What is Progress Monitoring?
Progress monitoring is achieved through the use of Curriculum-based Measurement (CBM) and testing probes which monitor the effectiveness of an intervention. Over twenty-five years of research has demonstrated that CBM is a valid and reliable standardized testing practice for progress monitoring that is sensitive to the effects of intervention in short periods of time.
How do we manage all the data?
With Response to Intervention, educators have to manage a significant amount of data. Thus, having to analyze so much data begs the question, "How can teachers do this in a way that is accurate, efficient, timely, and accountable?" The answer is by using Web-based formative assessment and data management tools that inform teaching and learning by providing continuous student performance data to parents, teachers, and administrators thereby enabling evidence-based evaluation and data-driven instruction.
